Title: Updates for Car Seat Educators Obj: Learners will be able to generate a plan for transporting a child safely; this plan must incorporate the latest changes in safety recommendations and in car seat and vehicle technologies. (A bit of background info: the role of these learners is to educate parents about car seats, NOT to install car seats. There are psychomotor aspects -- they need to know how to install car seats in order to teach others, so there are appropriate objectives further down the map. In my judgment, though, the overall instructional goal is primarily an intellectual/problem-solving skill.) (A little more background info: this is an update/refresher course for these learners. They already have a great deal of prior knowledge, and there would be quite a few entry behaviors; this course is to update them on what has changed since they first received their certification. The entry behaviors later in the design would reflect this.)
