Instructional Design Activity: Course Design
Your IDA was evaluated by: Lindsay Wilson Overall Instructor Rating: Satisfactory Ratings explanation:
Instructor's Overall Feedback: Jason, Course Design: In your ICM, for Unit 2, I think some text was cut off... I think that teachers need to know the information in Unit 4 even though errors will not occur all of the time. Therefore, Unit 4 should not be placed on the side; it should be placed just above unit 3 and below unit 5. The way you have it set up right now, Unit 4 is placed to the side as if it was a verbal requirement before beginning Unit 3. Your Unit design is excellent. I have no constructive feedback other than to reword your objectives (for both course and unit designs) so that you use the SWBAT model. Your use of the dotted line to show the prerequisite skills is perfect as is your use of boxes to the right to indicate the verbal skills. Great job! Lindsay
This activity builds on the needs assessment IDA. This IDA is divided into two parts. First, you will design a rough outline of a course. In this context, "course" is defined as an instructional entity, which has both a recognizable start and finish point, and has an organized set of content. It is the most general instructional solution to a problem identified in needs assessment. Second, you will choose one of the units from your course design and design a rough outline of that unit (of course, in the 'real world', you would do this for all of your units). The activity is designed to give you hands-on practice with course- and unit-level task analysis. |
