Instructional Design Activity Online Library

Instructional Design Activities (IDAs) are short exercises completed by students who have taken "Introduction to Instructional Design" at the Unversity of Georgia or Western Governors University. The purpose of each IDA give each participant the opportunity to individually practice the particular instructional design skill being introduced and discussed at that point in the course. Each IDA focuses on helping students understand the process of the particular instructional design skill by giving them some quick, initial practice applying the skill in a context of their choosing. It is very important to note that because the focus is on learning instructional design, students are allowed to complete each IDA using hypothetical situations, reports, events, etc. Visitors to this library must remember at all times that data in any particular IDA has likely been invented by the student. Instead, visitors should focus only on the instructional design process being applied by the student.

This library is made possible by the generosity and professionalism of the students who have taken this course. Instructional design is not an easy process to understand or apply. The willingness of these students to share their difficulties and successes in learning the instructional design process with others trying to learn these skills is a tribute to their service to the Instructional Technology profession. It is hoped that their attempt to apply instructonal design to contexts they found most meaningful and relevant will help others do the same.
