We are conducting a research study to investigate the readability and legibility of on-screen reading materials, such as those used with the Web-based courses and on-screen testing procedures.

In the following screens, you will be asked to read several passages of text and answer a few questions. The procedure is similar to a reading comprehension test. Your participation in this study is completely voluntary and any information you provide will be kept confidential. Participating in this study should take about 30 minutes of your time.

All information provided by participants will be kept confidential. All identifying marks will be destroyed within six months after completion of the data collection procedures.

By agreeing to participate in this study, you affirm that:

  1. You are at least 18 years old.
  2. Your participation is completely voluntary.
  3. You may withdraw from this study any time without the risk of any penalty.
  4. You understand the reason for this study is to examine readability and legibility of on-screen reading materials.
  5. The procedures of the study have been fully explained.  If you have any further questions you may contact any of the researchers below electronically or by telephone.   
  6. In the event that you decide not to participate in the study, we thank you for your interest in our study.  Please do not proceed.
